I thoroughly enjoyed combining personal training and teaching exercise classes with competing at regional level in track athletics, but a back injury in 2005 made me re-think my approach to exercise. I discovered pilates and haven’t looked back! Pilates is a lifelong discipline, even as teachers we are always learning. I have gradually added barrels, stability chair and cadillac to my repertoire, along with numerous courses for special populations. I am committed to providing the highest quality of teaching and I believe in enjoyable, challenging and achievable exercise to strengthen both body and mind.

  • I have been teaching this wonderful method of movement since 2006
  • I have a sport and exercise science degree and graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1999
  • I went on to coordinate the Active Lifestyle Programme at The University of Birmingham for three years before pursuing a dream to further my athletics training in Australia
  • After gaining mat and reformer certification with STOTT PILATES, I taught over 1500 classes in village halls throughout the Yorkshire Dales before taking a break from teaching in 2009 to start my family
  • I returned to teaching in 2013 with a fully equipped apparatus and matwork studio in Ingleton, at the foot of Ingleborough in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park

My training has involved matwork pilates and ante and postnatal pilates. I am passionate about the work of Joseph Pilates and use pilates every day at work to assist in the rehabilitation of my patients in order to increase strength, reduce imbalances and aid posture, flexibility and alignment. I love to teach classes, pilates has so many benefits for everybody.
